Job Title: SEO Content Editor (AI + Optimization)
Location: This role is remote; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states due to payroll and tax requirements: AZ, ID, NV, SC, or PA
Employment Type: W2, part-time, remote
Hours: 20–30 hours per week
Start Date: February 2026.
Scheduling: Beyond initial training and a few regular internal meetings, we’re flexible on when hours are worked and logged, as long as deadlines throughout are met and communication is consistent.
Compensation
This is a W2, part-time position starting at $28/hour. We plan to do a check-in after 60–90 days to review how onboarding is going, confirm expectations and workload are aligned, and discuss potential growth in responsibilities and hours if that’s something you’re interested in.
Role Summary
We’re hiring a part-time W2 team member (20–30 hrs/week) to support our growing content production needs. The core responsibility is AI-assisted SEO content editing: generating drafts with AI prompting and then heavily editing for accuracy, brand voice, readability, and conversion-focused local SEO performance. The role may grow over time, but it can also remain part-time and SEO-focused long-term.
Primary Responsibilities (First 1–2 Months)
- AI-assisted SEO content production + editing
- Prompt and generate drafts using AI tools based on internal SOPs
- Edit and optimize for:
–Search intent alignment + topical coverage
–On-page SEO structure (H2/H3s, internal link suggestions, localized relevance)
–Conversion clarity (benefit-led copy, service-specific CTAs)
–Brand voice, readability, and compliance with style guidelines
- Maintain production pace while meeting quality standards
Tools
- Google Docs, internal templates/briefs, AI tools, Asana, Slack
Secondary Responsibilities (Ramp Later; Not Required Immediately)
1) Listings / citations (Yext & BrightLocal)
- Submit/update company info and citations; publish GBP posts; occasional review response support
- Once trained: ~1–2 hours/week typical
2) Organic social media posting (execution-focused)
- Post/schedule pre-planned content to client accounts; basic coordination
- Not heavy strategy; mainly consistency + follow-through
- Once trained: ~1–2 hours/week typical (varies)
3) Programmatic/display ads support (bigger learning curve)
- Audit basic checklists; coordinate pixel placement with client/vendor and our developers
- Assist with basic banner ad creative updates using templates
- Once trained: ~2 hours/week typical
Requirements
- Demonstrate experience editing existing content to improve SEO performance
- Strong editing/writing fundamentals (clarity, grammar, structure)
- Comfortable working with AI-generated drafts and substantially improving them
- Able to follow templates/SOPs and hit deadlines consistently
Nice to Have
- Local SEO familiarity (GBP posts, citations)
- Familiarity coordinating with developers (pixels, scripts)
- Experience with social scheduling tools
Pay: $28.00 per hour
