Website Strategist (Consultant – 8-Week Engagement)

We are seeking an experienced Website Strategist Consultant for an 8-week project-based engagement to evaluate, refine, and optimize our website as a strategic growth, conversion, and brand-building platform. This role is advisory and strategic in nature, focused on defining the direction, structure, and performance framework for the website rather than day-to-day development or execution.
The consultant will assess the current state of the website, including architecture, user experience, messaging, content, conversion paths, SEO foundations, and performance analytics. Working closely with MassMedia leadership, the Website Strategist will align the website to core business objectives, audience needs, and integrated marketing initiatives, ensuring the site functions as a primary driver of qualified leads and engagement.
Key responsibilities include developing a clear website strategy and actionable roadmap; defining and refining site architecture, navigation, and priority user journeys; evaluating and improving messaging, content hierarchy, and calls-to-action; identifying conversion optimization opportunities; and providing guidance on SEO, technical considerations, and performance measurement. The consultant will translate insights into practical recommendations that internal teams or external partners can execute efficiently.
Throughout the engagement, the Website Strategist will collaborate cross-functionally, providing strategic guidance, reviewing materials, and aligning stakeholders around priorities and success metrics. The role requires strong business acumen, the ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear direction, and comfort advising senior leadership.
At the conclusion of the 8-week engagement, the consultant will deliver a comprehensive website strategy package that may include a current-state assessment, audience and journey insights, recommended site structure, messaging and content guidance, conversion optimization recommendations, performance KPIs, and a prioritized implementation roadmap, along with a final executive readout and handoff.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of experience in website strategy, digital strategy, or growth marketing; a strong understanding of UX, CRO, SEO, content strategy, and analytics; experience working in a consulting or fractional capacity; and the ability to align digital strategy with business and revenue goals. Experience supporting agencies, growth-stage companies, or multi-location brands is preferred.
