Managing Editor & SEO Content Specialist – $47,000.00 – $61,500.00 per year
The SEO Content Manager is responsible for the editing and refinement of all written trading card game-related content for CoolStuffInc.com. They ensure content achieves high search engine rankings, drives engagement with the target audience, and ensures content aligns with marketing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Strategy and Management: Research and implement content strategy, manage the editorial calendar, and ensure timely publication of all materials.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor content performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics to inform future content strategies.
- SEO Optimization: Optimize new and existing content for search engines, including keyword research and implementation, meta tags, titles, internal linking, and content structure to improve visibility and organic search rankings.
- Edit and Proofread: Review all content for grammar, spelling, clarity, and adherence to common SEO practices.
- Contractor Management: Manage content payments and communications with all contracted editors and authors.
- Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to ensure content aligns with marketing goals.
- Monitor Product News: Closely monitor product news for trading card game brands, and proactively create or commission content based on these topics. This includes – but is not limited to – ban lists, product announcements, releases, preorders, and large events.
- Print Production Coordination: Assist the Marketing Manager in seeking out vendors for print orders, submitting orders, keeping track of delivery arrivals, and vendor communication.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of Magic: The Gathering and trading card games in general.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in content editing, writing, or a similar digital marketing role.
- Exceptional command of the English language, with meticulous attention to detail.
- A strong understanding of core SEO principles, including on-page optimization, keyword usage, and the ability to adapt to algorithm changes.
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress and familiarity with SEO and analytics tools.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to proactively generate new content ideas around industry-related topics.
