About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and creative Writer-Editor to join our Communications team.
This is a manager-level role responsible for developing, editing, and delivering compelling content across print and digital platforms. You will collaborate with internal teams, healthcare professionals, and members of the PH community to create engaging, accurate, and accessible content that supports PHA’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and edit content for websites, publications, and special projects across print and digital platforms
- Research and interview subject matter experts, including clinicians, researchers, patients, and caregivers
- Translate complex medical and scientific information into clear, accessible language
- Manage content from concept to publication, including brainstorming, drafting, editing, and proofreading
- Ensure all content is accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational messaging and style guidelines
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and update materials
- Contribute to editorial standards, style guides, and content strategy
- Support communications initiatives and projects as needed
- Attend key events and conferences to capture and develop content
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, English, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional writing and editing experience with published work
- Experience writing for nonprofit or healthcare audiences preferred
- Strong proficiency in AP style
- Experience with content management systems and digital communication tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
