Technical Writer w2 REMOTE (cloud, infrastructure, or DevOps) – $36.89 – $60.00 Per Hour
Develop and maintain technical documentation for cloud infrastructure components, tooling, automation frameworks, and APIs
Create internal documentation to support onboarding, usage guidelines, architecture diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures
Work with engineering teams to understand technical workflows and convert them into structured, user-friendly content
Write and edit release notes, runbooks, configuration guides, and platform changelogs
Maintain consistency and quality across all documentation through style guides and version control practices
Contribute to the development of a documentation portal or developer hub (if applicable)
Qualifications
3–7+ years of experience as a Technical Writer in cloud, infrastructure, or DevOps-heavy environments
Strong understanding of infrastructure as code, cloud architecture (public/private/hybrid), and container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
Experience documenting APIs, command-line tools, automation pipelines, and CI/CD systems
Proficiency in Markdown, AsciiDoc, or similar markup languages
Familiarity with version control tools like Git
Ability to create visuals/diagrams using Lucidchart, Draw.io, or similar tools
Exceptional written communication skills and an eye for clarity and detail
Self-starter comfortable in fast-paced, engineering-led environments
Nice to Have
Experience with platforms like OpenStack, VMware, or other private cloud technologies
Familiarity with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or Spinnaker
Experience building documentation systems or developer portals (e.g., Docusaurus, ReadMe, MkDocs)
