π Who is the Technical SEO Freelancer?
This role focuses on the technical side of SEO, working closely with our Integrated Marketing Manager and SEO Copywriter. Youβll handle site audits, schema markups, structured data, and other foundational SEO enhancements while ensuring websites are optimized for AI-driven search (LLMs).
You have strong development skills, hands-on experience optimizing website files, and a deep understanding of search engine algorithms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive technical SEO audits, identifying issues and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Optimizing website structure, metadata, schema markup, and structured data to enhance search visibility.
- Collaborating with web developers on site performance enhancements, including crawlability, indexability, and Core Web Vitals improvements.
- Implementing and troubleshooting technical SEO elements, including canonical tags, redirects, and robots.txt configurations.
- Ensuring technical compatibility with AI-driven search models (LLMs) and evolving search engine requirements.
- Supporting basic website development tasks, including minor coding and troubleshooting issues.
- Providing client-facing insights and recommendations, including presenting technical findings when necessary.
- Staying ahead of SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices to continuously refine strategies.
π What do You Need?
- A portfolio linked in your resume or otherwise attached to your application. This is required in order for us to review and consider your application. Please include technical audits youβve conducted and how you addressed and identified issues.
- 10+ years of hands-on technical SEO experience, preferably in an agency or consulting role.
- Basic web development skills, including experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and structured data implementation.
- Proven experience with schema markup, JSON-LD, and other structured data formats.
- Expertise in SEO tools like Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and technical audit platforms.
- Solid understanding of site speed optimization, Core Web Vitals, and mobile-first indexing.
- Ability to communicate and present technical findings to clients in an accessible way.
- Freelance setup: Must have your own laptop, internet connection, and availability during daytime hours for collaboration.
