Social Media & Community Engagement Manager

We are building a movement of millions of independent-minded voters across the United States. The Independent Center is the go-to-brand for information, research, and advocacy on the issues independent voters care about so we can change politics in America for the better.
You are a creative and savvy operator with experience in creating engaging content and managing social media channels, newsletters, and community engagement online and at events.
Your goals are clear, to dramatically and quickly grow our social following, newsletter list, and community engagement to make our movement the leading independent voter brand and community.
Role:
- Create and execute social media content across all major channels including Meta (Facebook, Instagram), YouTube, X, Reddit, LinkedIn & other channels daily
- Curating/reposting third-party content and news stories to amplify media coverage
- Maintaining content calendar with posts scheduled 1-2 weeks ahead
- Implementing feedback loops between community responses and content strategy
- Ensuring 100% on-time posting with backup plans for breaking news
- Craft engaging weekly newsletters for our community
- Source and arrange podcast opportunities
- Develop written content for social, web, and emails
- Respond to DMs, emails and in-person engagements from our community (i.e. local events)
- Work on and support our performance marketing campaigns
- Support press and media initiatives to enhance impact
- Assist in scheduling and pitching media and press
Knowledge and a keen sense of politics are critical. You’ll work with our strategy and brand/design team to deliver successful marketing and communications programs.
Experience:
- Social media management, use of scheduling and posting tools (i.e. Social Sprout, Later, Hootsuite, and Meta)
- Newsletter campaign software (Beehiiv, Mailchimp)
- Metrics monitoring and reporting from key dashboards including Google, social media, and others
- Excellent English written skills and ability to self-manage
You must be located in the United States and legally eligible to work in the United States.
