Scriptwriter / Researcher for Curiosity Documentaries | Frameforge

We are launching a high-quality media channel dedicated to uncovering the hidden mechanics of our world. While we often cover geopolitics, we approach it through the lens of logistics and process.

We don’t just want to know why something happened; we want to know how it physically happens.

  • Geopolitics: How do you actually move an army across a border?
  • Extreme Scenarios: What is the step-by-step logistics of dying in space? What is the physical cost of retrieving a body from Mt. Everest?
  • The Unseen: How does the internet actually get from the ocean floor to your house?

Our goal is to produce 10–25 minute cinematic documentaries that are dramatic, visually rich, and deeply engaging.

Who You Are

You are a “Generalist with a Deep Curiosity.” You are the type of person who goes down rabbit holes at 2 AM wondering how nuclear waste is transported or how embassies evacuate during a coup.

You don’t need to be a supply chain expert, but you must be obsessed with the practical reality of things. You understand that the most interesting part of a story is often the details others skip.

What You Will Do

  • Topic Research: Research a wide variety of topics—from military movements to obscure logistical challenges (e.g., “The Logistics of a Polar Expedition”).
  • Find the “Process”: Move past the surface-level Wikipedia summary to find the step-by-step mechanics of the topic.
  • Cinematic Scriptwriting: Turn that research into a dramatic narrative. We are looking for tension, pacing, and storytelling, not dry explainer videos.
  • Visual Direction: Write with the editor in mind. Suggest where maps, 3D models, or b-roll should go to help explain the physical movement of the story.

Requirements

  • Experience: 1+ years writing for YouTube channels (documentary/video essay style).
  • Storytelling Ability: You can take a dry topic (like shipping containers or oxygen tanks) and make it feel like a thriller.
  • Research Skills: Ability to verify facts and find interesting anecdotes, even on obscure topics.
  • Geopolitical Literacy: You have a solid grasp of world affairs, but you are flexible enough to write about non-political topics (science, survival, infrastructure) with the same level of depth.
