Scriptwriter For Minecraft Content | Shulkercraft
We’re looking for a talented YouTube scriptwriter to join our team, whose job is to do thorough research and write video scripts for Shulkercraft (2.4M subscribers), one of the world’s largest Minecraft YouTube channels.
This role is for someone who is seriously interested in the YouTube world. Who notices why videos work, why retention drops, and how story structure keeps viewers watching until the end. You’re not just a writer. You’re an idea person, an analyst, and a storyteller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write thorough video scripts that Shulkercraft creators can narrate in videos
- Brainstorm and develop new video ideas. Your role is as much about ideation as it is about writing
- Develop video structures that make viewers want to stay
- Continuously research best practices in YouTube retention and storytelling
- Analyze and identify moments where viewers might lose interest
- Pitch your video ideas and narrative structures to the YouTube producer for approval
- Collaborate with the Producer to ensure ideas are feasible and realistic in terms of timeline
- Work with video editors to make sure the script and the edit align well
- Improve the structure of future videos based on what the data says
Who We’re Looking For:
- Strong Minecraft experience
- Previous experience working with YouTube: scriptwriting, channel management, or other content creation experience
- Strong interest and passion for YouTube: you follow the platform and understand why some videos work and others don’t
- Excellent English writing skills
- Good storytelling instinct: you can build a narrative that gives viewers a reason to keep watching
- Analytical thinking: you can look at retention graphs and understand why viewers leave at certain points
- Creativity in finding ideas: you can consistently come up with new video ideas and approaches
- Strong research skills: you can dive deep into a topic quickly and find interesting angles or details
- Structured thinking: you can break a video into logical parts
- Good collaboration skills: you work with creators, the producer, and editors to turn ideas into great videos
