True Crime Researcher and Scriptwriter – $350-$800 Per Project
Your role will be to ideate, research, and write long-form scripts for various YouTube channels within the true crime niche.
Videos typically range from 30 to 90 minutes in length and require thorough research, accurate referencing, and strong narrative structure. We will provide the case or topic, and from there, you should be capable of independently handling the research and shaping it into a polished, compelling script.
You should also be confident sourcing and referencing relevant visual material to support the story, including things like police interviews, body camera footage, CCTV, court footage, news clips, archived material, and public records where available.
The tone of these videos is respectful, informative, and victim-focused. We are not looking for overdramatized, clickbait-style writing that fixates on gore or sensationalises offenders. The goal is to tell these stories with care, clarity, and strong attention to detail.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a native English speaker, or has native-level written English, with proven experience researching and writing for successful YouTube channels, documentaries, podcasts, or publications.
You should be able to deliver scripts that require minimal editing, align closely with the intended tone and structure of the channel, and demonstrate a clear understanding of pacing, storytelling, and factual accuracy.
You should also be comfortable working independently, making sound editorial decisions, and organising large amounts of information into a script that is both engaging and easy to follow.
