Managing Editor, Entertainment
We are seeking a Managing Editor for our Entertainment publications including MusicTimes, Enstarz, KPopstarz, & Classicalite. This candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the overall editorial direction of the publication. This editorial leader will be responsible for overseeing the creation and publication of high-quality entertainment-related articles, ensuring that they meet editorial standards and resonate with the target audience. Exceptional editing skills, strong knowledge of the entertainment industry, and keen eye for detail will be key to your success in this role.

Job Overview:
- Content Strategy: Collaborate with the editorial team to develop and execute content strategies that align with mission and goals. Stay updated on industry trends and identify potential areas for coverage and growth.
- Editorial Oversight: Edit and proofread articles for grammar, spelling, clarity, accuracy, and adherence to the publication’s style guide. Ensure that all content is engaging, informative, and well-structured.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular reviews of published articles to maintain the highest editorial standards. Provide feedback and guidance to writers to improve the quality of their work and ensure consistency across all content.
- Fact-Checking and Research: Conduct thorough research on entertainment topics to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the information presented in articles. Verify facts, statistics, and sources to uphold journalistic integrity.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with writers, reporters, and other members of the editorial team to brainstorm ideas, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment. Offer constructive feedback to help writers improve their skills.
- SEO Optimization: Work closely with the SEO team to ensure that articles are optimized for search engines and meet best practices for SEO. Monitor keyword performance and provide recommendations for improving article visibility.
- Trend Monitoring: Keep abreast of the latest industry news and emerging trends. Identify opportunities for unique and engaging content that sets publications apart from competitors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as main editor in a large entertainment publication B2B and/or B2C.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an excellent command of the English language and grammar. Attention to detail is critical.
- Strong knowledge and interest in entertainment.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and search engine optimization SEO best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to analyze information, identify errors or inconsistencies, and make necessary adjustments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of writers, reporters, and other stakeholders.
Pay range and compensation package
This position pays up to $5,000/month with quarterly incentives.
