(Hi-Ed) Assessment Developer & Writer – Health Promotion & Aging
We are looking for a skilled Assessment Developer with strong copyediting expertise to contribute to our Health Promotion and Aging course. This is a dual-role position that combines assessment design with content quality assurance, requiring a keen understanding of gerontology, public health, and health promotion strategies for older adults.
The ideal candidate will have a background in health sciences or nursing education, strong knowledge of evidence-based aging care, and excellent writing and editing skills.
Key Responsibilities: Assessment Development
- Create high-quality, evidence-based formative and summative assessments (MCQs.)
- Align assessment items with defined learning objectives and course outcomes
- Ensure all items are appropriate for the adult learning population, especially in the context of aging and health promotion
- Collaborate with instructional designers to ensure assessments support course pedagogy and learner engagement
- Apply Bloom’s Taxonomy and/or clinical reasoning models where appropriate
Copy Editing & QA
- Review course content for grammar, clarity, consistency, tone, and accuracy
- Ensure content is culturally sensitive, age-appropriate, and follows APA/AMA style guides as applicable
- Check for logical flow, redundancies, and proper use of technical terminology
- Conduct fact-checking and source verification for all health-related data and claims
- Provide editorial feedback to improve learner comprehension and readability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Gerontology, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or assessment writing in healthcare or allied health
- Experience with copy editing or medical editing, preferably in an educational or e-learning setting
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and health promotion frameworks for aging populations
- Excellent command of English language, grammar, and scientific/academic writing standards
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with eLearning platforms (LMS, authoring tools)
- Knowledge of universal design for learning (UDL) principles
- Familiarity with APA, AMA, or Chicago style guides
- Understanding of cultural competence and inclusivity in health content
