Polar Bears International is seeking a skilled and experienced Grant Writer with a background in nonprofit fundraising and a passion for wildlife conservation and climate action. The successful candidate will play a vital role in securing funding to support our science, education, coexistence, and advocacy programs across the Arctic. This work is essential to ensuring the long-term survival of polar bears and the sea ice habitat they depend on.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a systematic approach to researching grants that support PBI initiatives and programs, and maintain a grant prospect spreadsheet.
- Draft and submit compelling grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities.
- Develop budgets and budget narratives in collaboration with program staff.
- Collaborate with program and development staff to align proposals with funding priorities and organizational goals.
- Maintain and manage a grants calendar and ensure timely submission of LOIs, proposals, and reports.
- Capture and update key grant program contacts in the CRM database.
Position Requirements:
- Proven experience writing successful grants for nonprofits.
- Strong grant research, writing, and editing skills.
- Experience building project timelines and budgets.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, engaging narratives.
- Familiarity with donor databases and grants management systems.
- Passion for wildlife, climate action, and environmental protection.
Ideal candidate will have:
- Experience writing grants for conservation, research, or environmental education.
- Demonstrated success with conservation grant writing
- Access to grant research database subscriptions
- Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification
