Executive Communications Writer – $32/hr – $37/hr
Our association client is looking for an experienced Executive Communications Writer to join their team on a 6-month contract that is highly likely to be extended. This position is 37.5 hours a week and is fully remote. You must work EST business hours.
You will be responsible for writing a wide range of executive-level content, including speeches, internal/external communications, presentations, interview talking points, etc. You will be able to translate ambiguous ideas and copy into cohesive messaging for the target audiences.
You will be responsible for creating PowerPoint decks to match the speeches and highlight key points/areas of emphasis.
You must provide writing samples to be considered for this role, including a speech. If possible, please include the deck that was presented along with the speech.
Duties Of The Executive Communications Writer
- Write speeches, talking points, scripts and remarks for executive leaders for internal and external engagements
- Draft executive communications including organizational updates, media statements, op-eds, leadership blogs, and employee messaging, etc
- Design and build visually engaging PowerPoint presentations highlighting key messaging
- Collaborate closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of messaging with organizational priorities and brand
- Translate complex subject matter into accessible, persuasive content tailored to different audiences
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Prepare executives for speaking engagements including background materials, talking points, Q&As, event briefs, etc
- Maintain consistent voice and tone to match the leader’s authentic style
- Proactively position executives with timely messaging based on current events and trends
Requirements Of The Executive Communications Writer
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; advanced degree a plus
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in executive communications, speechwriting, or related communications roles
- Experience writing for and working directly with senior leadership
- Experience writing internal and external communications
- Experience building PowerPoint decks to align with speeches
- Expert knowledge of PowerPoint design
