About The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and culturally tuned-in Lead Organic Content Copywriter to join our New York City team. This role is pivotal in shaping how millions experience the Hims & Hers brand through compelling storytelling across various platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging, human-centric content that resonates with diverse audiences—from social media snippets to in-depth videos and blog narratives. As a hands-on leader, you will oversee our Organic Copy team, developing the voice, scripts, and stories that power our organic presence on YouTube, social channels, our app, and our blog. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with cross-departmental teams including Marketing, SEO, and Content Strategy to ensure consistency and alignment with brand standards. This position requires the ability to turn healthcare topics into binge-worthy content, combining insight with imagination. The role involves working from our New York City studio as needed, with occasional in-person project collaborations.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in copywriting, with a strong focus on digital media
- Proven experience in scripting for YouTube content and video production
- Extensive knowledge of the video production process from a copywriting perspective (pre-production, production, post-production, delivery)
- Experience leading and mentoring creative teams, supporting professional development
- Exceptional storytelling skills with a sharp eye for narrative, tone, and clarity
- Ability to conceptualize and develop creative ideas collaboratively with designers, editors, and other creative partners
- Proficiency in driving experimentation focused on engagement and conversion metrics
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders through insights and data
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating marketing strategies to diverse audiences
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- In-depth understanding of healthcare, wellness, or CPG industry is a plus
- Hands-on, proactive approach with a passion for innovation and creativity
Responsibilities
- Own and develop the brand voice across all organic content channels, including YouTube, social media, blogs, and app content
- Conceptualize, script, and produce engaging video content that informs, entertains, and inspires audiences
- Collaborate with creative and strategy teams, including art directors, producers, editors, and designers, to bring content ideas to life from concept to final cut
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of organic copywriters, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Champion content experimentation, leveraging data and insights to optimize narratives for engagement and impact
- Maintain consistency in brand voice, tone, and storytelling standards across all content outputs
- Ensure high-quality editing, proofreading, and grammar standards in all copy
- Stay informed about industry trends and incorporate innovative storytelling techniques into content strategies
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and align content with business goals
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met
