Reports to: Content Manager
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (with 1-hour unpaid lunch break)
Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Position Overview: We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Caption Assistant to join our fast-paced content team. Reporting directly to the Caption Lead, this role will focus on writing compelling, on-brand captions that resonate with each brand’s voice and drive engagement, subscriptions, and sales. The ideal candidate is a skilled writer with a strong grasp of digital communication, an adaptable tone, and a passion for storytelling. You’ll play a key role in executing the team’s caption strategy, supporting high-volume content creation while maintaining consistency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write High-Impact Captions: Craft engaging, persuasive, and brand-aligned captions for content across various platforms, tailored to specific campaign goals and voice profiles.
- Follow Model Voice Guides: Apply voice and tone documentation developed by the Caption Lead to ensure every caption matches the personality and branding of each creator.
- Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with content schedulers, creative leads, and account managers to align captions with visuals, promotional strategies, and content calendars.
- Maintain Quality and Consistency: Adhere to established workflows and SOPs for captioning. Support internal quality checks and integrate feedback from the Caption Lead and QA specialists.
- Adapt to Trends: Stay current with social media trends, pop culture, and language evolution to keep captions timely, fresh, and engaging.
- Meet Deadlines: Ensure caption deliverables are completed accurately and on time, especially during high-volume content windows such as weekends, holidays, and promotional events.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in copywriting, preferably in social media and digital marketing, or creator-based industries.
- Education:
- Background in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Creative Writing, or equivalent work experience.
- Skills:
- Strong writing and editing skills with an adaptable tone and voice.
- Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and brand consistency.
- Ability to follow creative directions and apply feedback effectively.
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Suite, Notion, and Asana.
- Comfort with communication tools like WhatsApp and Zoom.
- Basic understanding of social media engagement strategies is a plus.
