Are you an experienced HR professional with a strong grasp of Canadian employment law and a flair for writing clear, accurate, and engaging content? Join us as a Human Resources Subject Matter Expert (SME) & Content Writer, where you’ll play a critical role in shaping high-quality training courses tailored to the Canadian workforce.
In this contract position, you’ll collaborate with our content development team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and clarity in learning materials that support employees and employers across Canada. You’ll review, refine, and contribute to content that aligns with current HR regulations and human rights standards—federal, provincial, and territorial.
What you’ll do:
- Review existing course content to ensure accuracy and compliance with current regulations.
- Stay up to date on Canadian human rights legislation at the federal, provincial, and territorial levels.
- Apply your expertise in Canadian employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices to guide content decisions.
- Provide subject matter input for script revisions and visual updates as needed.
- Identify gaps in current training offerings and advise on opportunities for new content development.
- Outline scripts and/or series to support future course initiatives.
- Write updates to existing video scripts as required.
- Draft new scripts to address content gaps and regulatory changes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of professional experience in Human Resources or employment law, with a focus on Canadian practices.
- CPHR or CHRL certification
- 1–2 years of experience copyediting or writing professional content.
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian employment standards and human rights legislation (federal and provincial).
- Exceptional time management and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite.
- Experienced in remote work environment.
- Experience working with eLearning, training content, or HR policy documentation is a plus.
