Ghost Writer and Editor (ad-hoc Contractor)
We’re looking to add a strong writer and editor to our team. Bonus points if you have a background in fitness — but great writing skills come first.
Apply only if:
— You have proven ability to write in the voice of a brand.
— You’re motivated and can complete work quickly and independently.
— You’re willing to learn and do your research on the fitness industry.
— You’re comfortable directing others in the writing and editing process.
About the company and the role:
Our business is dedicated to helping gym owners make their businesses profitable. We publish a lot, work fully remote, and our team is made up of smart people who are passionate about helping others. You’d be supporting the thousands of gym owners we work with — it’s work you can feel good about.
I’m looking for a self-starter who can take on ad-hoc projects as a contractor. You’ll work alongside our fitness business professionals — writing and editing their work, helping their expertise show up clearly and in our brand voice.
A test is required to move forward. If you use AI to complete it, it’s obvious — I’ve spent too much time reading AI submissions from “writers.” Just show us what you can do. seriously , don’t apply and then use AI in our first assignment.
If you do good work, we’ll keep using you.
Tasks You’ll Be Expected to Perform:
- Curriculum ghostwriting — Work with subject matter experts to present their knowledge in clear, concise ways.
- Curriculum editing — Help authors get their submissions to the finish line in our brand voice.
- Humanizing AI-assisted drafts — We love AI tools and human-assisted productivity (Yup, I used AI to clean up this posting), but AI writing is formulaic and wordy. We aren’t. When you see it, help the writer strip it out and bring in the human.
Minimum Skills Required:
- Previous ghostwriting experience
- Previous editing experience
- Bonus: education or training that supports those skills
If this sounds like a fit, take the first step and apply.
To apply, send your resume to amber@twobrainbusiness.com, a work sample, and tell me why you’re the one.
