Contract Writer for a Book
The Daily Grace Co. is seeking a contract writer for a special book project. This role is open to writers proposing or developing a Christ-centered book on a wide range of topics that teach readers the beauty of Jesus and the truth of Scripture.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong theological depth, excellent writing skills, and the ability to communicate biblical truth with clarity, warmth, and compassion. Because many of our books address deeply personal or formative areas of life and faith, writers should be able to engage their topic with honesty, empathy, and spiritual maturity—always pointing readers toward Christ and the hope of the gospel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
(theology, Bible, English, humanities, journalism, counseling, or psychology preferred, depending on topic) - Strong grasp of biblical theology and how all of Scripture points to Jesus
- Demonstrated ability to engage thoughtfully with a specific topic from a biblical perspective
- Capacity to write compassionately, with sensitivity to the emotional, spiritual, and lived experiences of readers
- Ability to make deep theological truths accessible to a broad audience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with the writing and editorial revision process
- Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable receiving and implementing constructive editorial feedback
- Ability to collaborate effectively with editors and internal teams
Scope of Work
- Research, outline, and write a full-length manuscript (approximately 55,000–75,000 words) on an approved topic from a biblical perspective
- Faithfully integrate theology, Scripture, encouragement, and practical application
- Incorporate stories, examples, and applications that resonate with the intended audience
- Collaborate closely with the editorial team through multiple rounds of review and revision
- Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitments

Compensation
Compensation is determined based on project scope and complexity
Additional Information
Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work. Participation in team meetings, workshops, or collaborative sessions may be requested depending on the project timeline and needs.
