Anime Editor
This is a paid freelance and remote position.
CBR is the #1 entertainment website and publishes up-to-the-minute news on blockbuster movies, TV shows, video games, comic books, and anime.
As a worldwide leader, CBR operates at a rapid pace and is always looking for experienced and passionate contributors who can create original high-quality content in a timely manner.
Your Responsibilities:
- Core responsibility is in sourcing Anime news in a timely fashion
 - Adding news titles and sources to Asana for writers to claim
 - Understanding of what makes a good Anime news title/angle
 - Making judgements on what is flash news vs news vs something to spike to features
 - Ensuring quotas are hit – understanding the times when it is appropriate to overrun, and when news can be passed on/passed to features
 - Assigning articles/communicating with writers on assignments
 - Editing articles and prioritizing most timely edits
 - Prepping soft/niche news for weekends
 - Sending writer feedback/writer development
 - Writing articles when needed (especially when fastest turnaround is required on breaking news)
 - Attending weekly team meeting

Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field.
 - 2 years of experience in producing entertainment and related content.
 - In-depth familiarity with and fierce passion for anime, especially the latest anime news
 - Experience with Google Discover and feed practices.
 - Experience with a custom CMS, preferred.
