Freelance Developmental Editor for Online Courses
Description
eDynamic Learning is searching for experienced developmental editors to turn subject matter experts into excellent and engaging writers for courses delivered online to middle and high school students. The company produces online courses in a variety of non-core curriculum subjects with a current focus on career-type electives in business, health science, information technology, and sciences.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Deep understanding of content creation with a minimum of 2 years of developmental editing experience, preferably in the K-12 space.
- Proven ability to collaborate and to partner with writers and other functional team members, such as Editors, Product Managers, Project Managers.
- Skilled with drafting and delivering constructive feedback that gets desired results.
- Experience working with curricula standards is ideal.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use technology tools and resources effectively to manage work.
- Teaching experience and credentials are recommended though not required.
- Undergraduate degree
Responsibilities
- Manage and own all aspects of content development of courses.
- Coach and mentor subject matter experts, turning them into exceptional writers.
- Interpret curricula standards and make sure that material meets standards.
- Oversee assessment methods for measuring effectiveness of content.
- Assist writers with creative use of design elements.
- Edit content, and occasionally edit substantively.
- Deliver effectively prepared content and all required elements for production tasks.
Successful candidates may be invited to audition by editing one (1) unit of a course.
