COPYWRITER
REMOTE – US Based candidate. EST hours preferred.

Job Profile Summary
As a member of the Creative Team, this individual is responsible for the conceptual development and drafting of copy for various types of promotional advertising, financial materials, sales support collateral, and/or internal communications. Ensures that copy is consistent with overall strategic goals of the organization and the appropriate business unit. May be assigned the most complex or high profile copywriting projects. May coordinate activities with design, proofreading, management groups or others to assure quality, timeliness and cost efficiency.

The best candidate will have the ability and desire to take complicated financial services content and translate it into simple, concise, compelling copy that inspires consumer audiences to take action. This position will be part of the Creative Team with a specific focus on our Retirement Strategies business, one of the most respected financial services organizations in the world.
We’re looking for a great storyteller and MUST include a proven portfolio of work for individual annuities or institutional annuities (ideally both). We are looking for a copywriter with unrivalled knowledge of these products and those without will not be considered.
This copywriter will work as part of a team (copywriter and art director) and will support different parts of our retirement strategies business, based on need. As such, the ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple projects across different business segments with speed, grace, and professionalism. In addition, the partner art director will be based in Ireland, so flexibility will be required for maximum collaboration.
This copywriter must also possess the ability to lead work, collaborate with a design partner to concept and execute across all media and touchpoints, and understand how to take creative direction with humility. This position supports a fast-paced organization and so the ability to manage complex, multi-step tasks is key to success. Finally, the ideal candidate is an organized self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and a keen ability to think outside the box.

Responsibilities
- Brainstorm, strategize, and create content that promotes products and services for Retirement Strategies
- Ability to work in an Agile environment
- Consult with cross-functional team members and creative leaders to create great copy
- Establish and enforce brand, messaging, and voice
- Ensure creative material is well-researched, effective and consistent with goals and brand standards
- Present themes and concepts to key stakeholders and business partners, champion that work through to completion, and incorporate learnings for continued improvement
- Interview business partners, senior executives, subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather the information needed to create effective business messaging
- Stay current on marketing communications trends in and out of the industry
- Be in the know about various new media communications methods
- Understand institutional audiences and how to best communicate with them
- Recognize the nuances of communicating through all media formats and converting messaging to be applicable across all media
- Meet or exceed all deadlines and deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school
- 7+ years copywriting experience.
- MUST HAVE a proven portfolio of work for at least one of the following products: 1) Individual annuities; or 2) institutional annuities.
- Highly-desired: a proven portfolio of work for at least one of the following audiences: 1) Defined contribution plans (plan sponsors, advisors, and plan consultants), 2) retail wealth management, and 3) Independent Marketing Organizations.
- Familiarity using Generative AI as part of the copy development process is a plus
- Demonstrated conceptual ability in digital and offline channels
- Ability to differentiate between an idea and an execution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Detail oriented, sound writing/editorial judgment
- Clear, concise, and confident verbal communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity and a team-oriented, collaborative spirit
- Portfolio demonstrating skills in all media
- Agile is a plus
