Digital Content Editor
The Digital Content Editor will oversee daily editorial publishing on wtatennis.com, delivering timely, accurate and engaging coverage of the WTA Tour. This role manages the creation and maintenance of “411” content packages for all high-profile events, providing essential information for fans and search audiences. The role also involves writing match recaps, finals previews and practical coverage, while supporting newsletter content and assisting with WSC highlight clip scripting.
The Digital Content Editor will also contribute to copyediting across the website and newsletters to ensure clean, accurate and consistent output.
This position requires a regular work schedule on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) to align with tournament coverage, with scheduled days off during the week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produce and maintain 411 content packages for major tournaments, ensuring accuracy, SEO optimization and timely updates.
- Write match recaps, previews and other essential coverage in a clear, engaging style aligned with the WTA’s editorial voice.
- Assist with copy editing site articles and newsletters to uphold quality standards across WTA digital channels.
- Support the marketing team by providing and editing content for newsletters.
- Use the WSC video tool to cut match highlight clips for digital platforms, aligning selections with editorial priorities.
- Monitor site content for accuracy, freshness and proper tagging.
- Generate practical story ideas to enhance the site’s coverage.
- Liaise with tournament media teams and player representatives for quotes, data and assets.
- Coordinate with the social media team to align coverage across platforms.
- Use analytics tools to help monitor and understand content performance, informing SEO-focused content strategy where needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media or related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in sports journalism, digital publishing, copyediting or similar roles.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong editorial judgment, clean copyediting and headline writing skills.
- Deep understanding of SEO best practices and their application in a live publishing environment.
- Understanding of SEO, content management systems and publishing workflows.
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, especially on weekends.
- Basic photo and video editing familiarity.
- Comfort with social media as a content distribution and engagement tool.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
- Knowledge of professional tennis preferred.

Position Type/Work Schedule:
