ROSA: Women in Power & Politics Magazine is a bold, bi-partisan publication committed to exploring the diverse, complex, and inspiring roles women play in politics and public leadership. From Capitol Hill to local government, advocacy, and global movements, we tell the stories that shape our world through the lens of women in power—regardless of party lines.
As we launch our new website, we’re building a diverse team of talented political writers who are passionate about nuanced, high-quality journalism. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the voice and editorial direction of a new national platform.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking experienced freelance writers with a strong understanding of U.S. politics and a proven ability to write with clarity, fairness, and insight. Writers should be comfortable covering topics across the political spectrum, and excited about contributing to a magazine that values inclusion, factual integrity, and political diversity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pitch and write original articles, profiles, interviews, and op-eds related to women in politics and public life
- Research thoroughly and write with a clear, engaging voice suitable for a general readership
- Meet editorial deadlines and respond to feedback in a timely, professional manner
- Stay informed on current events and political developments that relate to gender and leadership
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in political journalism or writing for a political publication
- Excellent writing, grammar, and storytelling skills
- A strong portfolio of published articles (links required)
- Ability to write from a bi-partisan or non-partisan perspective
- Interest in elevating the voices and stories of women in public service
Bonus If You Have:
- Experience interviewing elected officials, activists, or policy experts
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal political processes
- Comfort writing both long-form features and short-form analysis
