Position Overview:
We’re looking for a detail-obsessed Proofreader to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all client-facing copy and digital assets are polished, on-brand, and error-free. You’ll review a wide variety of materials—from social media captions and website content to banner ads, emails, and other creative deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and proofread copy across digital channels for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, consistency, and style.
- Ensure adherence to brand guidelines, tone of voice, and client-specific style guides.
- Collaborate with copywriters, designers, and account managers to ensure final deliverables meet high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Mark up edits clearly and efficiently using tools like Adobe Acrobat, Google Docs, or project management platforms.
- Flag inconsistencies or potential issues in copy or visuals before assets are finalized.
- Perform light fact-checking and ensure compliance with legal or regulatory language when applicable.
- Manage multiple deadlines and prioritize workload in a fast-paced agency environment.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience proofreading or editing in an agency, media, or publishing environment.
- Exceptional command of English grammar, syntax, and usage.
- Sharp eye for detail and ability to spot inconsistencies across content types.
- Experience working with digital content, including familiarity with common formats (emails, ads, social media, etc.).
- Working knowledge of tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and project management systems (e.g., Asana, Trello, or Monday.com).
- Familiarity with AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, or brand-specific guidelines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience proofreading visual/digital assets and layouts.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards or SEO best practices.
- Comfort working with multiple brands and industries.
