Writer — History Meets Stand-up | History Abridged with Jack Rackam – $250-$300 Per Project
Write fast-paced, funny scripts for a history YouTube channel. Tone is “history teacher at an open mic” — we mix tight storytelling with observational humour and scenes performed in character.
Scripts are typically 1,500–2,000 words and come with a clear topic and guidance on structure. We’re starting with one paid script ($300), with potential for ongoing collaboration on future videos or new series development.
Shortlisted applicants will be given a complete style guide and asked to write a 100-200 word test script based on provided research.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong understanding of storytelling – how to hook viewers and build toward thematic payoff
- Comfortable using deep research to turn historical events into character-driven Problem → Solution → Twist structure
Job Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Able to adapt to existing comedic style and voice
- Able to respond quickly for multiple revision checkpoints (pitch –> outline –> drafts)
- Able to complete 1,500 – 2,000 word final draft in 2 weeks
