Technical Writer, TrustNet
Website & Digital Content Writing for Lead Generation/Lead Magnet:
- The core function of this role is to drive lead generation through high-impact content across websites, service pages, landing pages, blogs, and lead magnet assets, focused on cybersecurity and compliance solutions with a strong emphasis on form submissions, opt-ins, and booked appointments via embedded Calendly links or HubSpot meeting links.
- Create engaging and informative copy highlighting the benefits of technology products, driving lead generation and user engagement.
- Learn and apply On-Page and Off-Page SEO (and AI SEO) principles to optimize copy for search engines, and AI platforms, and improve online visibility.
- Drive messaging strategy that highlights TrustNet’s unique value proposition across Advisory, Automation, and Audit services.
- Execute marketing initiatives that position TrustNet as a technology-first compliance partner, integrating tools like GhostWatch, iTrust, LevelBlue, Project Tracker, and SupportHub.
- Showcase trust signals, including client testimonials, industry awards, and customer success stories, prominently across digital assets.
- Develop and optimize personalized website content using smart content tools to tailor experiences for different audience segments (startup, mid-market, enterprise).
- Ensure the services/LOB pages, and landing pages maintain clean, modern, and conversion-focused content.
- Manage and expand resource libraries, including white papers, case studies, and guides that support demand generation and educate target audiences.
- Monitor and report on engagement metrics tied to trust-building elements, content performance, and user experience enhancements.
Whitepapers, E-books, and Long-Form Content:
- Research and write in-depth whitepapers, e-books, case studies, and technical guides on topics related to cybersecurity, data protection, threat management, and compliance (e.g., SOC, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, risk assessment, penetration testing).
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and Domain Experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of content, delivering thought leadership pieces that support marketing and sales objectives.
- Tailor content for a B2B audience, addressing key pain points and presenting solutions in an accessible yet authoritative manner.
- Create targeted content for prospects at all stages of the pipeline, including top, middle, bottom, and near close, to support conversion and deal progression.
Webinars, Podcasts, and Scriptwriting:
- Create scripts, outlines, and promotional materials for webinars and podcasts that educate key target audiences on cybersecurity trends, best practices, and product solutions.
- Work with marketing, product, and sales teams to develop content that showcases the company’s thought leadership and drives demand generation.
- Write copy for webinar and podcast promotions, follow-up emails, and summaries that nurture leads and deepen engagement.
Technical Marketing Collateral:
- Develop clear, concise, and persuasive copy of B2B marketing collateral, including brochures, case studies, product one-pagers, and sales presentations.
- Create content demonstrating our cybersecurity and compliance solutions’ business value and technical capabilities, targeting key B2B audiences.
- Align copy with overall marketing strategies and ensure consistency across all materials.
Editing & Proofreading:
- Edit and proofread all written content to ensure technical accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the company’s brand voice and messaging.
- Maintain high grammar, style, and tone standards across all formats and ensure that all content is error-free and professional.
- Collaborate with internal teams to review and finalize content before publication or distribution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product, marketing, and sales teams to gather technical information and ensure that all content accurately represents the company’s products and services.
- Collaborate with the creative team to produce visually appealing content, including infographics, diagrams, and other visuals that complement the copy.
- Assist in planning content and social media strategies that align with broader marketing initiatives, such as product launches, lead nurturing campaigns, and thought leadership efforts.
Industry Research & Knowledge Development:
- Stay informed on the latest developments in cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory compliance to inform content creation.
- Conduct competitive research and analysis to ensure that content remains relevant and reflects industry trends.
- Propose new content ideas and formats (i.e., webinars, podcasts, case studies, e-books) to expand the brand’s content marketing efforts.
Reporting and Communication:
- Track and report on key content performance metrics, including the number of published pieces and content types that drive from submissions, Calendly bookings, opt-ins, and qualified leads.
- Maintain a content pipeline in HubSpot and/or Monday, covering ideas, drafts, approvals, and published assets
- Forecast potential leads generated through lead magnets, guides, and gated content based on HubSpot analytics
- Monitor and report on the lead journey to identify which content influenced engagement or conversion
- Highlight wins by tagging and referencing specific content (e.g., a guide or lead magnet) that directly contributed to lead generation or movement in the sales pipeline
- Take full responsibility for understanding and reporting your own performance metrics through HubSpot, with training and support provided as needed
- Participate in real-time or on-the-fly calls when needed for urgent matters, efficient resolution, or faster alignment
Others:
- Support off-page SEO initiatives as assigned by the Digital Marketing Manager or Marketing Director, such as link building, review site management, and other related tasks.
What education you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, Cybersecurity, or a related field
What experience is required
- 3–5+ years of experience in content writing, technical writing, or copywriting, ideally in the cybersecurity, SaaS, tech, or B2B professional services sectors
- Proven ability to write a variety of content types including web copy, whitepapers, case studies, podcast/webinar scripts, and sales collateral
- Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and product teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple content projects in a fast-paced, remote work environment
- Familiarity with SEO principles and writing for digital audiences
What knowledge and skills you will need
- Demonstrate competence in HubSpot products, including CRM, Marketing Hub, and Content tools, to manage, optimize, and report on content performance.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible, engaging copy for both technical and business audiences.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with digital marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) (e.g., WordPress).
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong understanding of technical topics such as data protection, encryption, threat management, and compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and experience implementing privacy-compliant tracking solutions.
- Previous experience in the cybersecurity and compliance industry is a plus.
