About You:
We’re seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our Product team and play a critical role in supporting new feature and product launches.
You’ll be responsible for creating clear, user-friendly documentation that helps our pool service professionals get the most out of Skimmer’s platform. This role requires someone who can translate complex technical concepts into simple, actionable content for diverse audiences—from solo pool technicians to enterprise operations teams.
What you’ll do:
Documentation & Content Creation
- Write and maintain internal and external product documentation, including user guides, help articles, FAQs, release notes, and knowledge base content
- Create in-app copy, tooltips, and microcopy that guides users through features and workflows
- Develop internal support documentation to enable our Customer Success and Support teams to better serve customers
- Partner with Product Managers to document feature requirements and create comprehensive product specifications
- Contribute to video scripts, tutorial content, and training materials for new feature rollouts
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers throughout the product development lifecycle to understand features and user flows
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure messaging consistency across customer touchpoints
- Partner with Customer Success and Support teams to identify documentation gaps and common user pain points
- Participate in product launch planning and execution, ensuring documentation is ready and aligned with go-to-market timelines
Process & Quality
- Establish and maintain documentation standards, style guides, and best practices
- Organize and structure information architecture for optimal user experience
- Track documentation metrics and gather user feedback to continuously improve content effectiveness
- Manage documentation lifecycle, including updates for product changes

Your Experience:
- Hands on experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in SaaS or software companies
- Portfolio demonstrating clear, user-centered documentation across multiple formats (help docs, in-app copy, guides, etc.)
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and translate them for non-technical audiences
- Experience working in agile/scrum product development environments
- Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Notion, Confluence, Markdown, or similar)
- Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with B2B SaaS products, especially field service management or vertical SaaS
- Familiarity with UX writing principles and in-app content creation
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and comfort working with developer tools
- Understanding of API documentation and developer resources
- Experience with analytics tools to measure documentation effectiveness
