You will work with Liquibase’s Product Team to understand how changes to the product roadmap align with the user journey, user goals, and business outcomes. You’ll work directly with our development team to understand how the product is changing, but are confident in your content accuracy because you try every procedure yourself. You genuinely want to understand whether your content drives positive results for the user and our brand.
You will empathize with our customers by harmonizing details with clarity and warmth to make our content more welcoming. You will think hard about what your users feel and want at each step of their journey. You will guide them and be invisible at the same time. As a highly skilled, collaborative writer, you will be able to switch gears with ease. As a self-directed, fast learner, you will be a pro at keeping up with the latest technology and technical writing trends.
What you’ll be doing:

- Restructure existing content to a task-focused, modular documentation content model that makes it easier for people to find the content they need to self-serve.
- Engaging our product team to keep on top of an ever-changing roadmap and understand requirements from a customer perspective.
- Researching writing assignments using a variety of sources, including functional specifications, product requirement documents, product demos, using the product, analyzing customer feedback, and interviewing subject matter experts.
- Working with Development and QA as features get completed to add the next layer of reference documentation and working examples that make it easy for customers to configure and use our new capabilities.
- Learning Liquibase products to the level of power-user.
- Telling the story from a customer point of view – what the feature is, why it’s essential, and how it will improve customers’ lives.
- Providing usability feedback to product, design, and development teams to improve friction and make working with Liquibase easier and more delightful.
- Upleveling our content strategy to increase content wayfinding and increase awareness of useful features.
- Revamping our Style Guide and Voice & Tone Guidance so we can speak the language of our users while increasing comprehension and connection to the brand.
- Using data to understand if your content is successful and what you can do to improve it.
