Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled IT Technical Writer to support our team on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, specifically within the IT industry, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), API documentation, and white papers.
- Work closely with IT professionals, developers, and project managers to gather information and understand technical processes.
- Simplify complex technical jargon into comprehensible content for various audiences, including end-users and technical staff.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and aligns with company standards.
- Conduct content reviews and revisions based on stakeholder feedback.
- Maintain document templates and ensure consistency in formatting and style.
- Stay updated with emerging IT trends, tools, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in IT, software development, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of IT concepts, networking, software development, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar.
- Familiarity with markup languages (HTML, Markdown) and API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of coding languages (Python, Java, etc.) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge on creating network diagrams after working with network engineer.
