You will act as the bridge between complex technical information and the end-users who need to understand it. You will create clear, concise, and high-quality documentation that helps users navigate software, hardware, or industrial products.
- Content Creation: Draft, edit, and maintain user manuals, installation guides, API documentation, and online help systems.
- Information Gathering: Interview subject matter experts (SMEs), such as engineers or developers, to understand product functionality and technical specifications.
- Instructional Design: Break down complex workflows into logical, easy-to-follow steps for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Visual Documentation: Create or coordinate the production of diagrams, screenshots, and flowcharts to enhance written instructions.
- Standardization: Ensure all documentation follows specific style guides, branding requirements, and industry standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to quickly learn new technologies and translate technical jargon into plain English.
- Writing Expertise: Strong command of grammar, syntax, and structured authoring (e.g., DITA or Markdown).
- Tools: Experience with documentation software like MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or Confluence.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in proofreading and ensuring that every instructional step is accurate.
- 5+ years, often involving strategy, documentation architecture, and managing entire knowledge bases
- Electronics and technology exposure a must.
