SEO GEO Specialist
We’re looking for a sharp, curious, and self-directed SEO/GEO specialist to join as a long-term contributor with room to grow. This role sits directly under our lead strategist and will be hands-on with real client work from day one.
You’ll help drive keyword and topic research, shape content distribution plays, and assist in the kinds of one-off SEO projects that keep client programs moving. You don’t need to be an expert in everything; we’ll train you in our workflows and processes. What matters is that you show up with genuine curiosity, a foundation in content strategy or SEO, and a desire to understand how search is evolving in the age of LLMs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead keyword and topic research for multiple clients and make confident judgment calls on what’s worth pursuing and what isn’t.
- Ingest client briefs, brand docs, and strategy direction, then synthesize that context into useful inputs for our AI-assisted workflows.
- Develop content distribution plays identifying the right mix of articles, Reddit/community posts, YouTube, and other channels to influence a client’s SEO and GEO visibility.
- Pull and analyze data for monthly SEO reports and gap analyses.
- Identify and recommend content for on-page optimizations.
- Assist with one-off SEO projects as they arise like technical audits, competitive analysis, and similar work.
- Stay current on how LLMs are reshaping search and be willing to experiment with new GEO-specific tactics.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- You’re not expected to have deep expertise in every area but you should have a strong working foundation in at least one of the following:
- Content strategy and keyword research
- SEO fundamentals: on-page, content-level, or technical basics
- Across the board, we also want someone who can:
- Understand content marketing funnels, user journeys, and multi-touch strategies.
- Communicate clearly in writing, in Slack, and in client-adjacent documents.
- Think editorially
- Navigate SEO tools comfortably and draw signals from the noise.
THE GEO LAYER
- A distinct part of this role is understanding Generative Engine Optimization. How content gets surfaced and cited by AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews. You don’t need to be a GEO expert, but you should be:
- Genuinely interested in how LLMs process and retrieve information.
- Comfortable thinking across content formats, not just articles, but Reddit threads, YouTube content, and owned community assets.
- Willing to experiment, track results, and help iterate on what’s working.
NICE TO HAVES
- Editorial experience: agency, publisher, or content team background.
- Hands-on experience with Claude or other AI tools in a professional workflow.
- Working knowledge of Screaming Frog or other technical SEO tools.
- Familiarity with LLM visibility platforms like Profound, AirOps, or http://Peec.ai.
- Experience slating content in Airtable or similar editorial trackers.
A NOTE ON HOW WE WORK
This is a collaborative role, not an isolated one. You’ll be in close communication with the SEO strategist, learning our processes from the inside. We’re a lean, async-friendly team, so strong written communication and the ability to manage your own workload matter a lot. We’d love someone who’s excited about where search is headed, not just where it’s been.
This is a full time role, roughly 35 hours per week. We work async by default, so there’s no expectation of working a set schedule — but we do ask that you’re available at least partially during EST hours, typically for a check-in or quick sync when needed. Outside of that, you manage your own schedule. What matters is that work gets done, communication is timely, and you’re not going dark for days at a time.
