About The Role
We are seeking a strategic and creative SEO Content Strategist to join our team remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive SEO-driven content strategies that enhance organic visibility, strengthen category authority, and drive qualified traffic and conversions within The Pond Guy’s eCommerce ecosystem. Your primary focus will be on creating high-quality, search-optimized content that educates and engages customers, helping them discover the right products at the right time while supporting their pond, lake, and water garden maintenance needs throughout seasonal cycles.
This role involves translating complex product and seasonal information into clear, trustworthy content that aligns with evolving search engine algorithms, including traditional search, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). You will collaborate with marketing, eCommerce, and creative teams to ensure content aligns with brand voice, SEO best practices, and customer intent. Additionally, you will analyze performance metrics using tools like GA4 and Google Search Console to refine strategies, improve rankings, and maximize organic growth. The position offers flexibility as a remote role, with occasional on-site training or events as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in SEO content strategy or content-focused SEO, preferably within a B2C eCommerce environment.
- Solid understanding of on-page SEO fundamentals, search intent, and conversion-focused content creation.
- Proficiency in keyword research using enterprise SEO tools to identify opportunities, analyze performance, and map keywords to content categories and products.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, capable of producing authoritative, clear, and customer-centric content.
- Hands-on experience with GA4 and Google Search Console for content performance analysis and optimization.
- Strong attention to detail, proofreading skills, and ability to balance feedback with content quality standards.
- Knowledge of evolving search trends, AI, and content strategies, including generative engine optimization and large language models.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and adaptable with excellent collaboration skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving sitting for long periods, typing, and light lifting (up to 35 pounds).
- Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening or Saturday hours as needed.
- Ability to meet remote work standards, including reliable internet and suitable workspace.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement SEO-driven content strategies to increase organic traffic, improve category visibility, and enhance content performance across blogs, product pages, category pages, and FAQs.
- Create high-quality, search-optimized content from concept to final draft, ensuring alignment with SEO best practices and brand voice.
- Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify search intent, content gaps, and competitive opportunities.
- Lead SEO reporting efforts, analyzing performance data to prioritize optimization activities, improve search rankings, and boost organic engagement and conversions.
- Optimize on-page elements such as meta titles, meta descriptions, header structures, schema markup, and internal linking to enhance search visibility.
- Ensure all content maintains readability, brand consistency, and a focus on customer conversion while adhering to SEO standards.
- Stay informed on the latest trends in search engines, AI, and content marketing, applying insights to refine strategies and incorporate new technologies like generative models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative, and eCommerce, to translate technical SEO insights into actionable content recommendations.
- Support seasonal and weather-driven content planning to align with pond and water garden maintenance cycles throughout the year.
