Senior Content Strategist & Editor
We’re seeking a Content Strategist & Editor to lead the charge in producing high-quality, audience-focused written content that amplifies our brand and grows our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Marketing & Audience Engagement
Conceptualize and produce attention-grabbing content that resonates emotionally with our audience—building brand loyalty and driving user engagement.
Collaborate with our marketing team to develop campaigns that elevate brand awareness and drive traffic across multiple channels (email, social media, web). - SEO-Focused Content Strategy
- Conducted keyword research and leveraged SEO best practices to inform content planning and topic selection.
- Collaborate with our chefs and recipe creators to create a robust content calendar that addresses audience interests, ranking opportunities, and industry trends.
- Develop guidelines and briefs for freelance writers or AI-powered tools to produce SEO-optimized pieces.
- Coordinate with and manage freelance writers and AI-based writing tools, ensuring consistency and adherence to editorial standards.
- Content Editing & Quality Assurance
Oversee and refine our existing content library—recipes, cookbooks, articles—ensuring accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency.
Implement editorial best practices to maintain a high standard of grammar, style, and tone. - Newsletter & Email Marketing
Write and edit a weekly newsletter to engage our subscribers with fresh updates, new recipes, and company news.
Develop 2–3 content emails per week based on existing content to nurture leads and maintain consistent engagement.
work alongside agencies, & copywriter to craft promotional email sequences that convert interested readers into paying customers and drive sales during peak moments of the year. - Creative Direction & Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with photographers, graphic designers, and video editors to ensure all visual elements align with brand voice and editorial strategy.
- Provide clear briefs, feedback, and guidance to ensure visual outputs meet high-quality standards and deadlines.
- Organizational Excellence
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with calm efficiency—balancing deadlines, content strategy, and creative direction without sacrificing quality.
- Maintain meticulous records of content versions, style guidelines, and production timelines to keep the team aligned and on schedule.
- Data & Analytics
- Track and measure content performance using analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs) to assess ROI and identify areas for improvement.
- Use insights to continuously refine content strategy and ensure maximum impact on organic growth.
Qualifications
- Proven Experience: 5+ years in content writing, editing, or publishing, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong editorial judgment and polished writing skills.
- Passion for Cooking & Health: Much of the work will be about health & wellness and specifically healthy cooking. Experience & deep knowledge in this area are required, and any experience in editing a Cookbook or writing a cooking blog is a big plus.
- SEO Knowledge: Deep understanding of SEO strategies—keyword research, on-page optimization, and content planning—that drive organic growth.
- Content Marketing Expertise: Experience in creating content campaigns that attract, engage, and convert audiences across multiple platforms.
- Email Marketing: Familiarity with newsletter and email marketing best practices, including conversion-oriented copywriting.
- Eye for Design: Ability to collaborate effectively with design teams, providing clear direction and quality control for photography, graphic design, and video.
- Tools & Platforms: Proficiency with popular SEO software (SEMrush, Ahrefs), analytics platforms (Google Analytics), and email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to juggle priorities and ensure timely delivery of high-quality content.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to accuracy, consistency, and thoroughness in all work.
- Team Player: Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and external freelancers, and leveraging generative AI and writing tools.
