Senior Content Strategist – $80,000 a year

AMPED’s mission is to eradicate marketing mediocrity, and as our Senior Content Strategist, you’ll be instrumental in raising the bar for our entire content team. You’ll lead by example, mentor junior copywriters, and work directly with our VP of Content Strategy to develop and execute content strategies that deliver real business impact for our clients. AMPED is a fully-remote company that requires ongoing engagement via digital platforms.

Objectives

Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development
- Partner with the VP of Content Strategy to develop, refine, and implement comprehensive content strategies that drive measurable business results
- Contribute to content framework development and best practice documentation
- Oversee and mentor junior copywriters, providing guidance on strategy implementation, writing techniques, and professional development
- Review and provide constructive feedback on team members’ work to ensure quality standards and strategic alignment
Advanced Content Development
- Conduct research to understand content marketing best practices, client offerings, industry trends, competitor activity, and target audiences
- Exercise strategic and creative thinking when approaching projects to put forth the best drafts that apply best practices and the latest methodologies
- Write and edit B2B and B2C content of various types, including blogs, emails, social media posts, newsletters, case studies, webpages, and whitepapers that are clear, relevant, and compelling to the target audience
- Apply different brand voices, writing styles, and messaging guidelines based on each client, creating a cohesive brand experience across all channels.
Conversion Strategy Implementation
- Apply proven conversion frameworks (AIDA, PAS, customer journey mapping) to optimize content performance
- Collaborate with digital marketing teams to develop and implement advanced SEO and CRO strategies that directly impact conversion metrics and business outcomes
- Monitor content performance metrics and provide strategic recommendations for optimization
AI-Enhanced Workflow Optimization
- Leverage AI tools for research, content structuring, competitive analysis, and brand compliance verification while maintaining human-driven creative writing
- Develop and refine AI-assisted workflows that enhance team efficiency without compromising quality
Quality Assurance & Standards
- Establish and maintain high editorial standards across content deliverables, including grammar, punctuation, clarity, relevance, and effectiveness
- Conduct final reviews on content projects
- Ensure brand consistency and strategic alignment across all client work
Client Relationship Management
- Interface directly with senior client stakeholders to gain insight, develop content strategies, and provide content recommendations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with client services, design, and digital marketing teams to ensure integrated campaign success
- Interact as an active participant of the AMPED team during business hours through our digital communication channels and organizational virtual meetings, including contributing ideas for process improvements and enhanced effectiveness
- Stay aware of project timelines, work proactively on multiple clients and assignments, prioritize appropriately, and submit deliverables on time or early
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Industry Experience: 7+ years of experience in content marketing, with at least 2 years in a senior role within an agency or similar multi-client environment
- Relevant Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field
- Language Skills: Exceptional command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, with demonstrated ability to produce and edit complex, error-free content across diverse industries and audiences
- Conversion Strategy Expertise: Deep understanding and proven application of conversion-focused content frameworks (AIDA, PAS, customer journey optimization, funnel strategies) with measurable results
- AI Tool Proficiency: Advanced skills in leveraging AI tools for content workflow optimization, research, and strategic analysis, while maintaining human creativity and strategic thinking in content development
- Additional Proficiencies: Expert knowledge of AP style guidelines, advanced SEO principles, and content performance analytics
- Professional Excellence: Dedication to operational efficiency, work quality, and a results-driven approach with meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving
- Strong Portfolio: Comprehensive collection of work samples demonstrating capabilities and effectiveness across various content marketing types and channels, with documented performance metrics and conversion results
