Scriptwriter for Police Bodycam Channel | Detective Dusk
Are you a skilled and reliable scriptwriter with a talent for storytelling and a genuine interest in law enforcement content?
We’re looking for more than just someone to write words — we want a creative partner who can turn real police bodycam footage into captivating, documentary-style narratives that keep viewers hooked from the first second to the last.
We’re a growing YouTube channel focused on real police bodycam footage — turning raw material into story-driven videos with context and care. The channel is gaining traction fast, and we’re looking for another writer to join us as we build something big in this niche.
About the Job
- Watch and analyze full raw police bodycam footage and related materials
- Create clear, compelling scripts that guide the storytelling — from gripping introductions to concise, informative outros
- Write with precision: every sentence should add value, maintain pacing, and keep the viewer engaged
- Identify and timestamp key moments in the footage to help editors structure the video timeline and narrative flow
- Include notes for where commentary, captions, maps, or supporting visuals (e.g., police reports, suspect photos, evidence materials, court outcomes, etc.) should appear
- Summarize important details such as charges, outcomes, or notable aftermaths using provided source material
- Collaborate with the editing team to ensure the story and visuals align perfectly
- Maintain consistency in tone, pacing, and storytelling style across all videos
You MUST Have
- Strong storytelling instincts — you know how to write captivating, documentary-style scripts that flow naturally
- Excellent English writing skills with clarity, accuracy, and creativity
- A deep sense of pacing and structure — you understand how to build tension, emotion, and context without filler
- Ability to filter large amounts of footage and extract the most engaging, relevant moments
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing footage, police reports, and source materials
- Reliability and initiative — you don’t just summarize, you shape the story
- Interest or understanding of law enforcement and real police encounters
- Comfort working with real-life police footage and reports
This Role is NOT for You If
- You don’t like spending time watching or analyzing long footage to find key moments
- You just want to be told what to write instead of crafting a narrative from scratch
- You’re uncomfortable working with intense, real-life footage from police interactions
