Research-Heavy, Fear-Driven Consumer Content (Tariffs, Supply Chain, Price Shocks) – $0.07/word
I’m looking to bring on a freelance writer to take over ongoing blog content creation for a consumer-facing project focused on price hikes, product stockouts, and supply chain disruption—especially those driven by U.S. tariffs and trade policy.
Rate: $0.07/word Volume: Likely 2–4 posts/month to start (700–1,200 words each) Tone: Conversational but informed. Think: Vox + Morning Brew + a hint of economic fear-mongering (in a good way). Audience: U.S. consumers—especially those who’d act on intel like “buy now before it gets more expensive.” Goal: Drive urgency and affiliate purchases.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Writing blog posts based on topics I outline or that you pitch.
Translating policy shifts and trade news into digestible, emotional, actionable content for everyday readers.
Finding credible sources (I’ve got a few to get you started, like GS, TaxFoundation, Inc, TKer) and synthesizing their insights into clear narratives.
Channeling some paranoia—but in a fact-based, journalistic way.
What I’m Looking For:
Strong research skills and journalistic instinct.
Ability to spot and connect trends (e.g. “inventory is high” + “tariffs just hit” = price hikes coming).
Sharp, clean writing that builds trust and nudges action.
Bonus if you’ve written about supply chains, tariffs, inflation, or consumer trends before.
I’ve got a few sample posts and a structure you can follow to start, but I need someone who can take the torch and run with it.
