Position Overview
We are seeking two experienced Medical Compliance Proofreaders to join our content operations team – one based in EST and one in PST. These roles are critical to ensuring all Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) and B2B/Provider content meets rigorous medical compliance standards before publication and distribution. As subject matter experts in healthcare regulatory language and standards, you will serve as the final quality assurance checkpoint for all messaging to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency.

- PST-based Proofreader: Pacific Time Zone
- Work Environment: Remote
Key Responsibilities
Medical Compliance Proofreading
- Proofread all D2C and B2B/Provider content for grammar, syntax, punctuation, and spelling while maintaining strict adherence to medical compliance standards
- Verify adherence to FDA regulations, FTC guidelines, and medical device compliance requirements
- Ensure consistency with ResMed brand guidelines, style standards, and medical terminology protocols
- Identify and flag potential compliance risks in marketing language, product descriptions, and healthcare provider communications
Regulatory Accuracy & Risk Mitigation
- Conduct fact-checking and verification of medical claims, device specifications, and clinical data references
- Ensure all medical terminology, dosages, therapeutic claims, and product benefits are accurate and compliant
- Cross-reference content against approved labeling, regulatory submissions, and clinical evidence
- Flag inaccuracies or potential regulatory violations for remediation before content distribution
Content Quality Assurance
- Perform comprehensive quality reviews across multiple content formats (web, email, print, digital, video captions)
- Ensure consistency across D2C patient education materials and B2B healthcare provider communications
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail in high-volume document review with minimal supervision
- Collaborate with marketing, medical affairs, and legal teams to resolve compliance questions and content inconsistencies
Documentation & Version Control
- Maintain detailed records of all proofreading activities, corrections, and compliance findings
- Track document versions and ensure previous approvals are reflected in final materials
- Document any non-compliant language for training and prevention purposes
Workflow & Collaboration
- Manage multiple concurrent projects with varying priority levels and tight deadlines
- Communicate proactively with writers, designers, and project managers regarding timeline constraints and compliance concerns
- Participate in content workflows across multiple teams to ensure seamless quality assurance
- Support team members with medical terminology clarification and compliance guidelines
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of professional proofreading experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries
- 3+ years of specific experience with medical compliance standards (FDA, FTC, healthcare communications regulations)
- Proven experience proofreading both D2C patient-facing and B2B healthcare provider content
- Track record of working in regulated healthcare environments with stringent compliance requirements
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Medical Communications, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, or related field
- Formal training or certification in medical proofreading, medical writing, or pharmaceutical compliance (preferred)
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Expert command of English grammar, syntax, punctuation, and style (AP, AMA, Chicago Manual of Style)
- In-depth knowledgeof FDA regulations, FTC advertising standards, and healthcare compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and content management systems (CMS)
- Experience with proofreading software and track changes functionality
- Familiarity with medical device regulations and product labeling requirements

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with medical device or diagnostics companies
- Knowledge of specific therapeutic areas (respiratory, cloud/digital health, monitoring solutions)
- Familiarity with ResMed’s product portfolio or competitive healthcare solutions
- Prior experience training proofreaders on compliance standards
- Exposure to quality assurance processes and SOPs in regulated environments
- Multilingual capabilities (for reviewing localized or international content)
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat) for reviewing design files and PDFs
- Experience with version control systems and document tracking
- Ability to use proofreading mark-up tools and industry-standard editing platforms
- Familiarity with automated compliance checking tools (preferred)
