Position Summary
The Lead Digital Copywriter position is responsible for creating full-funnel copy across all D2C channels while leading the messaging for Carhartt Reworked, the recommerce initiative started in 2023. This position works closely with cross-functional partners in the Marketing and Social teams to deliver best-in-class work on-time, on budget, and always on-brand.
Associate Responsibilities
- Serve as lead copywriter on Carhartt Reworked, creating messaging for all channels including Reworked.Carhartt.com, email, retail, paid social, DR, and PMAX.
- Create copy for Carhartt brand-side D2C monthly full-funnel messaging needs.
- Develop messaging for internal communication needs.
- Maintain consistency of brand tone and voice across all D2C channels and between the Carhartt and Carhartt Reworked brands to ensure alignment at every touchpoint.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to better understand the business challenges and goals to help inform messaging while providing input on messaging strategy and briefs.
- Concept and help produce larger seasonal brand and product campaigns.
- Present creative work to Marketing, Media, Product, and Leadership.
- Work with internal and external agency partners to deliver consistent and efficient results on time and on budget.
- Fearlessly defend the Carhartt brand voice while adhering to and enforcing brand standards and guidelines.
- Remain current on all advertising, social, and cultural trends and how it may affect future creative.
- Mentor junior and mid-level creatives.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree or Portfolio School in communications, marketing, advertising, or related discipline or equivalent years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of advertising/marketing copywriting experience across all digital media platforms. Ideal candidate has previous experience writing for both the ecommerce and retail spaces.
- Strong creative portfolio with fully-integrated campaign work – examples of full-funnel D2C messaging a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, thorough attention to detail, strong prioritization, project management skills, and the ability to set and meet tight deadlines.
- Team player with willingness to pitch-in on occasional quick-turn assignments and unforeseen needs.
- Stay up-to-date on news, trends, and other issues related to all social media channels.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Typical office environment; office setting. Extended periods of time sitting, standing, typing on a computer is required.
- Willing to work some weekends if necessary.
- National travel required (up to 20%).
- This position has a Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site. Travel on-site is limited to special events.
