Compensation: $24-$27.40/hr
Location: Primarily remote, with 1-2 days per week at our downtown Austin, TX office.
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization and a global leader in anti-fraud training and certification. We are currently seeking a proven content editing professional to play a key role in supporting the integrity and quality of our Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) exam and its preparatory materials.
Working closely with subject matter experts and the CFE Exam Program team, this role is responsible for editing, updating, and enhancing exam content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with current standards.
Essential Functions:
- Edits and provides necessary rewrites for the CFE Exam and all related study products.
- Works closely with the team and subject matter experts to develop and review new content for CFE Exam products.
- Ensures the accurate and consistent flow of information between the CFE Exam and all associated study materials, including the Fraud Examiners Manual, CFE Exam Prep Course, CFE Exam Review Course, CFE Exam Flashcards, and CFE Exam Study Guide.
- Provides quality assurance checks on all new and existing CFE Exam-related materials.
- Updates and manages content in various item banking and content management systems.
- Assists with formatting and finalization of CFE Exam products, as needed.
- Conducts technology-related testing to ensure that products are built correctly and are error-free.
- Helps to analyze data related to the CFE Exam and study products.
- Researches and assists with the implementation of certification exam best practices.
- Contributes to initiatives related to the growth and improvement of the CFE Exam and CFE credential program.
- Develops, maintains, and promotes effective internal and external relationships while working collaboratively with ACFE colleagues and members.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of previous editorial and quality assurance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in English or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and thorough understanding of and proficiency in English grammar, syntax, and punctuation.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills; proven experience in meeting deadlines and following directions.
- Experience working with and providing feedback to writers or other subject matter experts.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to learn new technology platforms quickly and navigate them with proficiency.
- Assessment development and editing experience a plus.
- Experience and familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Basic web and HTML knowledge.
- Experience using item banking software and exam delivery platforms a plus.
