About The Role We are seeking a talented and strategic Copywriting Lead to elevate Launch Potato’s performance marketing initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for driving stronger performance across paid media channels while reinforcing our brand voice, creative systems, and strategic positioning. Your expertise will guide the development of compelling, high-converting copy for ads, landing pages, video scripts, and more, ensuring consistency and excellence across all touchpoints. You will oversee the performance of copy across various platforms including paid social, search, display, and programmatic channels, analyzing campaign data to optimize messaging and maximize return on ad spend. Additionally, you will lead a team of freelance writers and collaborators, managing resources and workflows to ensure high-quality output and operational efficiency. Your innovative mindset will help identify new copy angles based on market trends and consumer insights, translating these into scalable messaging strategies that unlock incremental revenue. Qualifications
- 4–6 years of performance marketing copywriting experience with a strong portfolio of high-performing ads across paid social, search, and programmatic channels
- 2+ years in a creative leadership, editorial lead, or mentorship role managing writers or creative contributors
- Deep understanding of direct response principles, consumer psychology, and creative strategy for performance marketing
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign data and optimize messaging accordingly
- Proficiency in writing compelling video scripts for platforms such as TikTok, Reels, and YouTube
- Experience managing freelance writers and creative teams, with a focus on quality and throughput
Responsibilities
- Own and develop the brand writing strategy across all paid media channels, ensuring consistent voice, messaging, and positioning
- Create, refine, and scale positioning playbooks to guide high-performing, conversion-focused copywriting
- Establish creative quality standards for ad copy, landing pages, CTAs, and video scripts to enhance channel performance
- Oversee the velocity and effectiveness of copy across paid social, search, display, and programmatic campaigns
- Analyze campaign data regularly to identify top-performing messaging patterns and inform ongoing optimizations
- Write high-impact copy for key campaigns, vertical launches, and rapid-test environments
- Identify new copy angles based on market trends, consumer insights, competitor messaging, and internal data
- Translate insights into testable hypotheses and scalable messaging strategies to unlock revenue opportunities
- Lead the development of engaging video scripts that meet performance and compliance standards
- Partner with vertical leads and Compliance teams to ensure messaging adherence to regulatory standards
- Manage a network of freelance writers and collaborators, ensuring high throughput and quality control
- Own the budget and resource allocation for writing support, maximizing ROI
- Build systems, workflows, and training resources to improve creative operations and knowledge sharing
