Copywriter/SEO Strategist – Technical/General (Contractor) – $30 – $45 an hour

1558 Brand Agency is looking for a versatile Copywriter & SEO Strategist, with both technical and general copywriting experience, to join our team on a contract basis. This role is responsible for producing authoritative, long-form content that positions our clients as industry leaders, while simultaneously executing the SEO strategies required to make that content perform. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of content—from technical research and writing to backlink building and direct outreach.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Authoritative Content Creation:

  • Research and write high-quality Technical and General Blogs, E-books, White Papers, and Case Studies for a diverse client base.
  • Translate complex industry concepts into clear, persuasive, and educational content.
  • Conduct interviews with client subject matter experts (SMEs) to extract unique insights for original content.

2. SEO & Internal Architecture:

  • Internal Linking: Audit client websites and new content to build a robust internal link architecture that improves crawlability and user experience.
  • On-Page Optimization: Ensure all content is optimized for specific keywords without sacrificing readability or brand voice.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in technical writing and SEO-focused copywriting (agency experience preferred).
  • Strong SEO Portfolio: Proven track record of improving search rankings through content and backlink strategies.
  • Versatility: Ability to pivot between different industries (e.g., SaaS, professional services, Aerospace & Defense) and maintain a consistent brand voice for each.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience using SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush) and Outreach tools.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional self-editing skills and a deep understanding of content structure for both humans and search engines.
