Summary: New Mexico State University’s Global Campus seeks a talented and experienced Copywriter who will support internal and external communications in a fully remote role. This position plays a key role in developing impactful copy and coordinating marketing and news projects that advance strategic.
Classification Summary:
Provides professional leadership and project management support in the planning, development, and coordination of both internal and external communications, news projects and marketing projects, programs, and events of key significance to the advancement of the overall goals and objectives of a strategic and integrated component of the University. Participates in establishment and design and oversees implementation of communications projects and events, to include comprehensive writing projects, presentation and speech development, community events, and related activities.
Classification Standard Duties:
Provides professional assistance and support to Administration in the planning, design, development, and management of strategic, at times sensitive, communication projects and initiatives. Performs in-depth research and analysis on specific issues as assigned; develops and prepares comprehensive communications and/or reports based on analysis and interpretation of issues. Writes, edits, and reviews news materials and public relations materials for Administration and senior management, to include fact sheets, articles, news materials, and speeches; oversees production and publication news materials and public relations materials and other related communications. Participates in strategic planning, and manages and coordinates the development, implementation, and completion of special projects related to internal and/or external communications and/or public relations initiatives. Plans and coordinates special events such as open houses, community events, meetings, and/or tours. Oversees the development and maintenance of comprehensive contact databases for Administration and senior staff. Collaborates in the development and dissemination of broadly based strategic communication designed to inform the public of such issues as the University’s programs, accomplishments, and/or points of view on specified issues. Coordinates public outreach programs as appropriate to the position; designs and develops presentations for Administration and senior staff. Develops and manages project and event budgets as appropriate. Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of journalism principles and processes.; SKILLS:Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Records maintenance skills. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Skills in the use of database management, word processing, spreadsheet, and/or presentation software.; ABILITIES:Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information. Ability to evaluate and edit the content, structure, and format of a range of written material. Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects and events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
NMSU Global Campus is seeking a talented and experienced Copywriter, to join our team in a remote position. The Copywriter will be responsible for supporting the copywriting and communication needs of NMSU Global Campus. As a team player, the candidate will provide project management support in the planning, development, and coordination of both internal and external communications, news projects, and marketing projects, programs, and events of key significance to the advancement of the overall goals and objectives of a strategic and integrated component of NMSU Global Campus.
