THE OPPORTUNITY
Billy Reid is searching for an experienced Copywriter to join our Brand Marketing team. In this position, you will craft compelling narratives that inspire and connect audiences to the brand’s products and story across a variety of platforms including campaigns, digital experiences, social media, product, and print materials. Your role will ensure the brand voice remains authentic, engaging, and informative, adapting tone based on context, audience, and message. You will bring creativity, organization, and industry knowledge to deliver messaging that aligns with editorial trends. This role is a fully remote position with work related travel to Billy Reid’s HQ in Florence, AL. This role will report directly to the Director of Brand Creative.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development and execution of the brand’s voice across multiple channels ensuring consistency and alignment.
- Create and deliver engaging, authentic stories through various marketing materials, including product descriptions, social (paid and organic), blogs, emails, retail signage, selling tools, and more.
- Develop content that resonates with target audiences reflecting the brand’s unique voice and positioning.
- Ensure all content is polished with a strong focus on grammar, readability, style, and clarity.
- Collaborate with marketing, product teams, designers, and other departments to create cohesive and effective campaigns.
- Manage multiple writing assignments and meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Conduct thorough research to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with industry trends.
- Work closely with the design team to integrate copy seamlessly with visual elements in design layouts across all platforms.
- Write SEO-friendly content for websites including product descriptions, landing pages, and blog posts.
- Maintain and update brand style guidelines to reflect evolving creative direction.
- Review and edit your own work, as well as others’, to ensure consistency with brand guidelines.
- Incorporate feedback from team leads and stakeholders to continually improve work quality.
- Interpret and adapt information from diverse sources including product/design teams, creative briefs, and marketing sessions.
- Develop compelling copy for all stages of the marketing funnel from brand awareness to conversion.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field.
- At least 3+ years of in-house copywriting experience with a reputable brand.
- A strong portfolio showcasing writing samples across various formats, particularly email, social, and campaign work.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize a high-volume workload to meet deadlines, with regular status updates to the team.
- Meticulous attention to detail with exceptional proofreading skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and ensure thorough follow-through.
- Experience in e-commerce or direct-to-consumer brands preferred.
- Proven ability to write clear, compelling, and brand-consistent copy for diverse platforms and audiences.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Fashion or lifestyle experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Asana and Figma is a plus.
