Our education client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Copywriter to join their School Marketing Team on a contract basis to support the implementation of comprehensive brand strategies for four online public schools. In this role, you’ll craft clear, persuasive, and engaging copy across a variety of platforms to drive brand awareness, increase conversions, and support our digital marketing efforts. You will be a key player in our content strategy, ensuring all messaging aligns with our brand’s voice and resonates with diverse target audiences.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands online education or has experience writing for e-learning, higher education, or instructional content. (Not required but preferred.)
Essential Functions:
- Content Creation: Write clear, compelling, and conversion-focused copy for various marketing channels, including websites, email campaigns, social media posts, blog articles, landing pages, and digital ads.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all written content aligns with the company’s tone of voice, messaging guidelines, and brand values while speaking directly to the needs and pain points of potential students and their families.
- SEO Optimization: Work closely with the SEO team to incorporate relevant keywords into copy, ensuring content ranks well in search engines and attracts organic traffic.
- A/B Testing & Optimization: Write and test different variations of copy for digital ads, email subject lines, and landing pages to optimize engagement and conversion rates.
- Content Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, design, and product to develop content that supports larger marketing strategies and student acquisition goals.
- Research & Adaptation: Stay up to date with trends in online education, competitor messaging, and audience preferences to ensure content is relevant, fresh, and impactful.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience as a copywriter, preferably in education, online learning, or a related field.
- Strong Writing Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with a knack for simplifying complex topics and making them accessible.
- Digital Marketing Acumen: Familiarity with SEO best practices, email marketing platforms, and online advertising (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads).
- Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Education Background: A degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Desired Skills:
- Content Management Systems (CMS): Experience with platforms like WordPress, HubSpot, or other CMS tools.
- Social Media Savvy: Experience creating copy for various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $30.00 to $35.00 hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
