About The Role
The Copywriter at Animal Equality will serve as a vital member of the marketing and communications teams, responsible for crafting compelling narratives that inspire empathy and drive action among supporters. This full-time, remote position reports directly to the International Director of Marketing and is based in the United States. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in digital copywriting, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive, and strategic content across various platforms. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop materials that support fundraising, awareness campaigns, and organizational initiatives. The Copywriter will play a key role in translating Animal Equality’s mission into engaging stories that resonate with diverse audiences, including donors, volunteers, and event participants, ultimately helping to advance the organization’s global impact.
Qualifications
- Full alignment with Animal Equality’s vision, mission, strategy, and culture
- 3+ years of professional copywriting experience across digital media (email, web, SEO, social media)
- Experience in advertising, direct marketing, or fundraising copywriting preferred
- Excellent writing, editing, and conceptual skills
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimization
- Strong analytical skills for monitoring campaign performance and optimizing content
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects
- Capable of handling confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills, including setting priorities and tracking activities
- Problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities
- Proactive attitude with a growth mindset focused on continuous learning and improvement
- Passion for animal rights and alignment with Animal Equality’s mission
- U.S. work authorization is required
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of Animal Equality’s mission, history, and brand voice to ensure consistent messaging across all channels
- Write, review, and edit compelling copy for various formats, including newsletters, appeals, press releases, web content, video scripts, and thought leadership pieces
- Collaborate with marketing, communication, and fundraising teams to create targeted content that supports organizational goals
- Strategize with team members to anticipate challenges, analyze solutions, and recommend effective actions
- Proofread and edit content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with brand standards
- Monitor campaign performance data to inform content improvements and optimize engagement
- Revise and format content to meet SEO best practices and enhance online visibility
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support organizational initiatives and campaigns
