The Role
We’re seeking a versatile and strategicContent Writer – Enrollment Communication Specialistto craft high-performing, student-centric messaging across the enrollment funnel. You will develop compelling, conversion-driven copy for campaigns that build awareness, nurture leads, and drive action for Core’s partner institutions.
This is a contract position with up to 10–20 hours per week (estimated), flexible scheduling, and project-based assignments. There are currently no scheduled or recurring time commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Write clear, persuasive, and audience-specific content for email campaigns, landing pages, social media, SMS, and other marketing assets.
- Craft copy for full-funnel enrollment campaigns (prospect through matriculation) that reflects the voice and values of Core’s partner institutions.
- Develop and refine messaging frameworks for various learner personas (e.g., working adults, transfers, graduate students).
- Collaborate closely with designers and strategists to align messaging with creative vision and campaign goals.
- Edit and proofread content for clarity, tone, accuracy, and consistency.
- Apply SEO, UX, and performance marketing best practices where relevant.
- Translate complex academic offerings into approachable, benefits-driven messaging that resonates with prospective students.
- Adapt tone and voice to reflect a range of institutional brands and learner profiles.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience writing for higher education enrollment or performance-based marketing.
- Strong portfolio showcasing email, ad, landing page, and nurture sequence copy for higher education or similar industries.
- Proven ability to craft compelling, conversion-oriented copy across multiple channels.
- Comfortable working with early-stage campaign concepts and building messaging from the ground up.
- Experience with student lifecycle communications and CRM-integrated messaging (e.g., Slate, HubSpot, Salesforce) is a plus.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Able to accept feedback and quickly iterate on copy based on client input.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and highly organized.
- Agency or edtech experience a plus.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant writing experience, preferably in higher education or mission-driven industries.
