Content Manager – $64.45 to $71.62/hr
As the Content Manager, you will work closely with other teams across Mojang Studios in assessing how we should design and build a content management system (CMS) solution that meets each teams’ respective needs, goals and end-use with internal and external partners. These cross-functional teams include but are not limited to, game development, art, operations, licensing and partnerships, education, social media and community, and marketing teams. Initial scope of work includes assessing best in class platforms and exploring digital asset management (DAM) and CMS solutions. The Content Manager will serve as the point person for IT and business management for DAM and CMS third party software solutions.
A successful candidate will be able to concurrently identify the Studios’ needs, build our content hierarchy, advocate, and influence teams to provide assets to prepare and organize, laying the groundwork to migrate the collated assets to our chosen CMS and DAM software solutions.
You will be charged with tracking the procurement and implementation of software that contributes directly to studio onboarding and productivity and will need to learn quickly and adapt to the constantly changing needs of the studio and its partners.
This position deals with highly confidential materials and must abide by non-disclosure agreements. On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative and production tasks related to multiple internal and external Studios projects.
Responsibilities
- Collating content across studio teams (Redmond and Stockholm)
- Managing remote collaboration with stakeholders across multiple time zones
- Building a content hierarchy
- Creating a strategy for CMS and DAM that will meet the studios’ needs
- Setting and project managing CMS and DAM software exploration and execution timelines
- Working closely with IT, explore and execute Request for Proposals for CMS and DAM solutions
- Regular communication with studio teams to ensure efficiency and security for third party solutions
- Working with multiple disciplines including developers, designers, artists, writers, localization teams, and others
- If a CMS/DAM solution has been procured, manage internal onboarding sites and processes to improve studio-wide knowledge and communication
Qualifications and Skills
- 5-7 years of experience working with assets, CMS, and digital asset management systems
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with a variety of digital assets and content types
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and Bridge)
- Excellent cross-team communication skills, both written and oral
- Knowledge of media archiving best-practices
- Editorial experience: writing, editing, and manipulating documents for review and publishing
- Familiarity with the mechanics of popular online gaming features (such as player progression, social spaces, and multiplayer)
- Project management experience
- Experience writing technical documentation
- Knowledge of archiving best practices, experience creating taxonomies
- Ability to work on several projects at once
Top 5 software applications required for this role:

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $64.45 to $71.62 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
