Associate Editor – $50,000 – $70,000 a year
Cargo Facts, a flagship publication of Royal Media, is seeking an experienced, curious and detail-oriented reporter to join our editorial team. This role is ideal for an experienced journalist who thrives on breaking news, investigative reporting and building relationships within the global air cargo and aviation industries.
As a reporter you will report, write, edit and produce timely news and in-depth feature stories covering the air cargo, freighter aircraft, aviation finance and logistics sectors. You’ll interview senior executives and industry leaders, attend major industryevents and help shape the editorial direction of one of the most respected publications in aviation.

Reporters play an active role in these events by moderating panels, interviewing industry leaders, identifying editorial opportunities and helping develop conference programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Report and write timely, accurate daily news stories and in-depth feature articles covering the global air cargo and aviation industries.
- Write stories that are accurate, clear and adhere to editorial standards and Cargo Facts style.
- Identify breaking news opportunities and develop exclusive enterprise reporting.
- Build and maintain relationships with airline executives, aircraft lessors, OEMs, cargo operators, airports, logistics providers, financial institutions and other industry stakeholders.
- Conduct interviews with senior executives and industry experts.
- Develop long-form features, market analysis and special editorial projects.
- Represent Cargo Facts at conferences, trade shows and industry events around the world.
- Moderate panels and participate in live interviews and conference programming as needed.
- Support social media and newsletter initiatives to increase audience engagement.
- Collaborate with the editorial team on content planning and publication schedules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field (required).
- Three-plus years of journalism experience, preferably covering aviation, logistics, transportation, aerospace, finance or another B2B industry.
- Exceptional writing, editing, interviewing and communication skills.
- Ability to understand and explain complex business and technical topics to a professional audience.
- Experience cultivating industry sources and developing exclusive stories through those relationships.
- Comfortable speaking publicly and representing the publication at conferences and industry events.
- Knowledge of the aviation, cargo, logistics or aerospace industries is strongly preferred.
- Must have U.S. work authorization and be fluent in English.
