JOB SUMMARY
We’re looking for an Associate Director of Marketing Copy and Content to perfect the words, voice and tone that GeneDx uses to connect with the world, elevating GeneDx above what’s typically seen in the healthcare industry. Serving as a player/coach, the Associate Director of Marketing Copy and Content inspires and leads our small internal copy team while developing and executing branded content initiatives for healthcare providers, patients, families, advocacy groups, and more. If you love storytelling with a purpose, geeking out about which words matter to each audience, and making emotional connections to encourage folks to take action, this position might be for you.
In this role, you will elevate GeneDx’s innovative and engaging content to produce measurable results against business objectives. Reporting to and partnering closely with the Senior Director of Creative Services, this hands-on position requires a track record of writing and editing human-centric and approachable copy that conveys complex concepts, making audiences want to take action.
GeneDx’s Creative Services team functions as a full-service in-house agency that drives awareness and growth for the business. We deliver world-class storytelling and creative solutions that build awareness around, and demand for, GeneDx’s offerings via deliverables including web copy, digital ads, sales enablement materials, presentations, and social media posts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the strategy for how GeneDx expresses core messages to various audiences.
- Define, implement and continuously refine GeneDx’s brand voice, ensuring strength and consistency across all channels.

- Ideate and build compelling brand stories that resonate with target audiences, drawing them in to make an emotional connection that drives action.
- Bring your ideas to life in collaboration with one direct report—sometimes writing, sometimes editing, but always raising the bar for creative concepts and execution.
- Develop a deep understanding of GeneDx’s audiences and their journeys to identify ways our creative can be most effective in driving results.
- Partner with senior leadership to align content strategies with business priorities and market trends
- Collaborate with agency partners to ensure the GeneDx creative vision remains consistent, no matter which team develops the creative.
- Review and approve final copy, ensuring it meets project objectives, brand guidelines, and quality standards.
- Track and analyze the performance of content initiatives to measure ROI and inform future strategies.
- Promote and embody continuous learning, experimentation, and the use of emerging content trends.
- Develop strong, trusted relationships with the GeneDx medical, product and management teams; work closely with them to ensure accuracy of all copy.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence that enables best-in-class content.
